Your choices.
Your chances.

Some options deserve a bigger slice. Give each one a weight and watch the wheel show its chance. Start with 3 : 2 : 1, or build your own balance.

Choose how many winners you need, then start the draw.

Matching names, ignoring letter case, count as one participant. Their weights add together; all matching entries leave the draw after a win. Give different people distinct labels.

A weighted spinner in three steps

01

Add your possibilities

Write 2–100 options, one per line. Custom weights are already open on this page.

02

Set the balance

Change the weight beside each label. The percentage and sector update together; the weights do not need to add up to 100.

03

Spin and keep your setup

Spin independently, remove a winner if needed, or save the wheel to get a link that includes its weights.

PROPORTIONS YOU CAN READ

Turn relative weights into visible chances

A weighted wheel lets options have different probabilities. A weight is a share of the total: divide an option’s weight by the sum of all weights to get its chance. The tool calculates the percentages for you and draws each sector in the same proportion.

In the starting example, Pizza has weight 3, Sushi 2 and Burgers 1. The total is 6, so the chances are 50%, about 33.33% and about 16.67%. Doubling every weight to 6, 4 and 2 keeps exactly the same probabilities. You can use whole numbers or decimals with up to two places.

Three ways to use unequal chances

Choose the rules before you spin, and make the weights visible to everyone taking part.

Dinner with a little preference

Give familiar favourites a little more weight while leaving room for a new meal. Start with the food wheel if you need ideas, then adjust the chances to suit your shortlist.

One row, several tickets

For an informal draw with agreed ticket counts, put each participant on one row and use their ticket count as the weight. The name picker supports the same controls. Keep equal weights when every person should have an equal chance.

A creative constraint

Make a favourite subject common and an unusual prompt rare, or weight colours for a drawing challenge. The colour wheel can provide a starting palette. Each spin still leaves the result to chance.

A chance is not a promise

A 50% option is not guaranteed to appear five times in ten spins. Every spin uses the current weights independently. Short runs can look uneven, and a rare option can appear twice in a row. Weights describe the probability of each draw, not a fixed schedule of outcomes.

Removing a winner removes its weight too, and the remaining chances are recalculated. Sorting and shuffling keep each weight attached to its option. Repeated labels remain separate entries; add their displayed chances to find the total chance of that label. Use the yes or no wheel for a two-answer setup, or return to the custom wheel for a blank starting point.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Questions about weighted wheels

How is each percentage calculated?

An option’s chance is its weight divided by the total weight, multiplied by 100. Weights 3, 2 and 1 give 50%, 33.33% and 16.67% after rounding. The selection uses the weights themselves; rounded display percentages do not change the odds.

Can I enter percentages instead of weights?

Yes. Enter 70 and 30 for a 70% / 30% split, or any other positive values that sum to 100. You can also enter weights such as 7 and 3 for the same split. If the total is different, the wheel converts the values into percentages automatically.

Which weights are allowed?

Each entry needs a positive weight from 0.01 to 1,000 with up to two decimal places. To exclude an option, remove its line rather than entering zero. The wheel needs at least two options to spin.

Do the sectors show the actual probabilities?

Yes. A sector taking up half the wheel has half the chance. Very narrow sectors may not have a readable label on the wheel, so the complete list, weights and percentages remain available in the editor.

Can I save and share a weighted wheel?

Yes. Saving includes the title, options, weights, colour palette and preview image. Anyone with its link can see the chances and spin independently. Only the owner can edit a live wheel; a fixed copy keeps the saved weights unchanged.

How do I return to equal chances?

Choose Equal chances or use Equalise chances to set every weight to 1. Older saved wheels without weights also open with equal chances. The ordinary sample wheels start equally weighted; this page starts with a 3 : 2 : 1 example.
